Journal Updates
At the Centre we want to keep you up to date with recent journal articles that are of interest to you. So we have looked at all the relevant journals and have summarised their most interesting content here, so you can have a look at it.
When you follow the links we provide, these will take you to the abstract and full reference for each of the articles, except in cases where the journal is open access, when you will see the whole article. If you have access to journals already (because you are currently studying or have a alumni membership of your university library) you will also be able to access the full articles of the journals your institution is subscribed to.
If you don't already have journal access, you are more than likely to be eligible to register for free with the Knowledge Network and through them, gain access to most of the journals that we link to. You can find information about how to do this here.
The exception to this is where articles are in Sage journals (any time 'sagepub' appears in the article link). The Knowledge Network does subscribe to many of these, but there is an additional level of login needed. If there is an article in a Sage Journal you would like to read, you can contact the Knowledge Network directly, and they should be able to provide you with the extra credentials required. Hopefully, this will all become easier in the future and we are consulting with the Knowledge Network to make this happen.
We are only just starting with this, and so have not decided definitely on the format of these summaries. If you have suggestions for changes or are having problems accessing journals through the Knowledge Network, please email m.schinkel@ed.ac.uk.
