Welcome to CJSW

Welcome to the web site of the Criminal Justice Social Work Development Centre.

The Centre is an independent national resource providing a range of services to those working in, or concerned about, criminal and youth justice social work services.  We work in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector service providers and with central government to identify, promote, develop and disseminate good practice and management, based on the best available evidence.

Our web site aims to provide up-to-date professional knowledge and advice; information about conferences; and professional guidance; and should be of interest to social workers and others working in the criminal justice system such as the police, prosecutors, lawyers, sentencers and those working in custodial settings.  Please visit the site regularly and let us know what you think about it and what you would like to see featured in the future.
