Those who are particularly likely to commit sexual offences are less likely to get caught; may have longer offending careers; and may appear to have low recidivism rates.
On the other hand, those who specialise in housebreaking (burglary) are likely to have high recidivism rates but are unlikely to have longer than average criminal careers.
