The Network events have been sucessfully run over the last few years, and we are preparing to run a series of 3 events, in 4 locations within Scotland. We will be putting out information as soon as we can in respect of the first series of events but for more information keep your eyes on the website. For more information please contact your Youth Justice Co-Ordinator, or equivalent, or alternatively contact ndt@ed.ac.uk, as we will be chanelling the application system in the usual way through the Youth Justice Co-ordinators or equivalent in the near future. Dates yet to be confirmed.
SECURE CARE DECISION MAKING WORKSHOP
This workshop was run in 8th July 2010 by the National Development Team, and its remit was regarding the regulations in the Children Hearing (Scotland) Bill. In particular Section 145 of that Bill makes provision for Scottish Ministers to make regulations in relation to decisions by the Chief Social Work Officer whether to implement a hearing’s secure accommodation authorisation. This Bill was introduced to the Scottish Parliament in February 2010. This was held at the offices of the Scottish Government.
EVENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH NOTA
It is hoped that in conjunction with NOTA there will be a conference event in early December, although this still has to be confirmed. The conference will be for around 100 persons. Some free places may be available, but all details are still to be confirmed as it is in the early stages of planning.
