Aims of the ASSET users group

Remit

To promote the effective and consistent use of the ASSET Risk Assessment Tool in Scotland in order that crown copyright is maintained.

Objectives

Quarterly meeting of the core ASSET Users Group in order to:

  • Share and promote best practice
  • Develop a standardised training resource for the use of the ASSET tool in Scotland
          And
  • Provide guidance on when and how ASSET is used
  • Generate a Scottish sample of ASSETs to validate its use as a predictive tool in Scotland
  • Undertake through the Criminal Justice Social Work Development Centre an annual audit of ASSET users in Scotland

Expectations

All authorities, residential establishments and voluntary agencies who currently use ASSET are expected to attend all ASSET Users Group meetings and are required to attend at least one meeting annually.
